Diverse City believes that various groups under-represented in the performing arts industries, offer a vast creative resource of new visions, new voices and new forms.
We promote education as a route into the artistic professions and work to encourage under-represented groups to undertake formal artistic training.
Diverse City artists all teach in higher and further education and we specialise in tailored packages for schools and colleges. We offer performing arts workshops that will:
- provide an inclusive, fully accessible experience of HE level training
- extend and develop GCSE, BTEC, A Level and undergraduate syllabuses in performing arts, drama, dance, music and practical media studies
- utilise classical, contemporary and experimental performance techniques
- explore the transferability of skills gained in performing arts training
- introduce participants to a diverse range of artists working in the creative industries and higher education
- give career and course advice, including information on progression routes, career opportunities and advice on assessment, applications, auditions and personal statements
- offer the opportunity to work with students currently studying at university
- provide the opportunity to use cutting edge creative technology in music and video
