Strange Cargo: Reports from the frontline of extreme bodily experience...

six actors in 'strange cargo' show

Strange Cargo is a theatrical and musical extravaganza that premiered in London in 2007. The show featured one of the most diverse casts of performers to appear on stage in the capital in recent years.

Strange Cargo is performed by six people with a range of physical experiences including disability, gender transition, long-term imprisonment, childbirth and ageing. The piece sets out to banish preconceptions, offer an insight into ‘extreme’ experiences, and rediscover the extraordinary nature of those experiences that are seen as ordinary.
