Workshops for
People with Disabilities

Diverse City has a wealth of experience working with people with disabilities. We have initiated and managed high profile university courses that provide performing arts training for adults with physical and sensory impairments, and we now offer specially designed workshops for people with disabilities that:

  • deliver performing arts training that is fully inclusive and accessible to disabled people
are led by artists with disabilities
  • provide access workers and sign language interpreters
  • provide resources in a variety of formats relevant to deaf and visually impaired participants
  • offer the opportunity to share in the professional experience of disabled artists

(Please note that all our workshops are fully accessible to disabled participants)

Example
In 2007 Diverse City initiated a project with Oxford Brookes University that aims to increase the numbers of young people with disabilities in Higher Education. The project has included the delivery of performing arts workshops to special schools across Oxfordshire and specially tailored open days at Oxford Brookes for young people with disabilities.
